Domaine du Chasseur Domaine du Chasseur is one among the most interesting places in Mauritius . It is a hunting area situated in the South-East region of Mauritius . Covering an area of 900 hectares, the region is located in the Anse Jonchee hill which is almost 300-500 meters in altitude. The thick vegetation of palm trees, ebony, wild orchids, revenala and eucalyptus inhabits a number of rare wild animals and birds at Domaine du Chasseur. Boars, monkeys and stags are as well in this list. Domaine du Chasseur was discovered by Mr. Alain O'Reilly on 8 th of April 1988. He is the owner and Managing Director of this place. The mountains covered by clouds, the thick green forests and the crystal clear sea water are the attractions of the place. Sea food is another specialty of the whole of Mauritius and even more special in Domaine du Chasseur. This cute little place has four luxury bungalows and one restaurant which is located on the top of the mountain. Mahebourg Mahebourg is a small village on the South Eastern costal line of Mauritius . The place lies in the bay of Grand Port. The place is named after Mahe de Labourdonnais who was one of the most successful governors during the French colonial period. The village was founded in 1804 and is one of the main fishing villages in Mauritius .
